Winter Formal

On December 7th the Housing Committee put on a Winter Formal for all of the International and College programs! It was held at the Coronado Resort. The theme for this year was Haunted Mansion.

I had to work that day which was nothing but an interesting day! I started my day off being told that I should not work in the Canada Pavilion as I do not speak french. The guest would not let me explain that the entire country does not all speak french as she kept cutting me off to tell me she was from Canada. I later then was mocked by a guest when I noticed something inside the Northwest Mercantile had changed and pointed it out...

Me: Hey Becky look there is cookies behind you~!
Guest: Very observant you can see cookies, hey look there is a t shirt behind you!

My day ended a bit better when I over heard a group of guests talking about the Calgary Flames items but could not see why they needed to buy stuff from home in Disney World. I went on to ask where they were from. After they told me they were from Calgary I asked where in Calgary. The one gentleman said he grew up in Hidden Valley, I kind of squealed and said me too!! I told them I now live in Evanston/Creekside, A guy in the group piped in to say that him and his wife live by Sobeys! I explained our house and they knew exactly where I was talking!

It was then time to head to formal!
I had to fix up my hair and get dressed in our break trailer!
There were a lot more people then I was expecting. The food was delicious with pasta, salad, bread pudding and expresso whip cream. A nacho buffet was set up as well.
There were characters in every corner of the room for you to meet. Sadly the lines had been cut off by the time i arrived and had eaten. There were Mickey and Minnie, Jack Skellington or Ooogie Boogie man, Evil Queen or Curella DeVille, Lady Tremaine or the Evil Step sisters (Anastasia and Drizella)
A few of my favorite people!

Made With Magic

A couple weeks ago, I got a call from my Manager saying that a Photographer would be coming to Canada to take a few pictures to showcase the New Made With Magic products that are now available in Epcot.(Explanation below) At first I just thought that she was warning us not to be shocked that there will be someone taking pictures of the product and possibly taking it. Then she went on to explain that my friend Kevin and I had been chosen to be in this photo shoot. The only thing I could think was 'good job I look cute today'.
(Side Note: Kevin and I were chosen two weeks prior but had the chance to inform us
I'm lucky to have done my hair and make up that day)

Kevin came down to cart and we just stood there talking trying to figure out what was about to happen. When the photographer got there he went on to explain that the film crew would be arriving shortly, we would be saying where we are from and welcoming the world to Canada.
Yes you read right, a film crew....

We had microphones clipped to us, we had a full camera crew set up and directors...
It was kind of intimidating...

With out further a due... I present...

Thanksgiving, Black Friday and More...

I'm always apologizing that I am behind
but I have just been keeping myself busy and losing track of time.

I am not sure exactly when every happened anymore.
Here are the highlights of the end of November
I went to my first water park.
So much fun and the waves are absolutely insane in the wave pool.
There is a spot to swim with sharks, and water slides!
Took Becky to Hobby Lobby (like Micheals) and JoAnns Fabrics (like fabricland) for the first time!
Of course she loves both places!
Becky and I started our Menchie addiction.
We go ALL the time now!
Spending a night with my Big Sister.
We were freezing... In Florida...
The Gingerbread Carousel at the Beach Club.
I was not to happy that i was wearing a hoodie and eating oatmeal in Florida as I was so cold!
Thanksgiving here in Florida (not the same as Cali) but still had an amazing week. You truly see what the holidays truly mean when you are taken from your normal traditions.

I did get to enjoy some Black Friday sales where I went to an outlet mall, the Florida mall and a couple other stores around.

I got to spend a lovely afternoon with these two lovely people (Patty and Rex) a couple that I met through Job's Daughters.

To be completely honest this is all I can think I have done to finish off November and my 4th month in Florida! My time here has been flying by and I have mixed feelings...
